Mission

The mission of Human Rights Initiative of North Texas (HRI) is to provide free legal representation and social services to victims of human rights abuses and to serve as a community resource on international human rights issues.

HRI’s clients include victims of human rights abuses seeking asylum in the United States, victims of spousal or child abuse at the hands of a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, immigrant children who often flee from violence and travel to the U.S. alone, or immigrant children that have been abused, abandoned or neglected by their parents in the U.S.

These are individuals who have suffered persecution in their homeland for exercising the very freedoms that we take for granted: freedom of speech, of religious practice, of political belief, of gender roles.

Project

They would like to ask for new website for their volunteers that would be separate from the www.hrionline.org website. We could put a link to the new site on our existing site. This new site would provide volunteer management for all or our legal volunteers, social services volunteers, college interns, translators and mentors. Volunteers would use it to communicate with our Volunteer Services Coordinator, to log their volunteer hours, to see our updated volunteer needs and to sign up for training.
